Fish Sticks Part 3 Pages 78-122

Fish Sticks    Part 3  Pages 78-122

In this last section, Fish Sticks focuses on three main categories of “Find IT, Live IT, and Coach IT.”  After understanding these categories, you should be able to go in and out of each as life may interrupt with tragedies or complications.  The focus requires group and individual efforts.  Working together and supporting each will help keep the overall goal going.  Success and excitement is contagious.

In teaching you will need to find your individual goal within the overall goal.  You will need to Find IT, Live It, and be accepting of being Coached.   Having the people you work with motivated with a similar focus helps as life throws distractions your way.

Fish Sticks Pages 38-77

In this section, Ishy wanted Rhonda to find her “IT”.  It is “your personal piece of the vision.”  Companies write their mission statement to a broad range of stockholders or customers.  Finding your IT is the way each individual can internalize how they fit into the big picture or their roll within the overall mission statement.

Rhonda started having conversations with the people she supervised to understand their vision.  Rhonda now has a new supervisor that was also making her do things differently.  Rhonda and her staff had difficultly at first to change the way they had been doing things.

Teachers will need to see how they find in with the overall picture or entire scheme of education.  We need to find our place and our vision within the wide picture.  Then we need to “find” our vision, “live” our vision and be willing to “coach” and be “coached” to always improve our vison.

Fish Sticks

Fish Sticks Page 1-37 (Week ONE)

Fish Sticks is about Rhonda Bullock’s career at Good Samaritan Hospital.  Rhonda had felt she was failing in her newly promoted position and her hospital floor was starting to decline from their past success under a former supervisor.  Rhonda noticed some of the problems in her ward but was busy and did not know how to correct/improve the issues in the most effective manner.  Rhonda was going to use the strategies that she was learning from Mrs. Ishihara, an extremely successful sushi chef.

Teachers are always seeking “vision moments” that will hook the students into a lesson or a subject.  You strive to have students anxious to come into class and excited about returning.  It takes an entire staff to create this overall experience that will have the kids “standing in line” to get to us.  Of course, quality of education is most important.
